„The Post”, regizat de Steven Spielberg, se numără între producţiile care au fost nominalizate la categoria „cel mai bun film” a premiilor Oscar 2018, iar Greta Gerwig şi Guillermo del Toro sunt printre nominalizaţii categoriei „cel mai bun regizor” pentru filmele „Lady Bird” şi „The Shape of Water”. Actriţa Frances McDormand, cea care are rol principal în filmul „Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”, este printre nominalizatele la Oscar pentru „cea mai bună actriţă în rol principal”, în timp ce Daniel Day-Lewis se numără printre actorii nominalizaţi la categoria „cel mai bun actor în rol principal”, pentru filmlul „Phantom Thread”.
Cea de-a 90-a gală de decernare a premiilor Oscar va avea loc pe 4 martie, la Los Angeles. Evenimentul va fi prezentat de Jimmy Kimmel.
